My name in Nelson Haerr and this is my card.
After working in New York City for twenty years I feel qualified to put in my two cents worth of service related opinions.
Restaurants worked in and learned in:
The Manhattan Ocean Club
The Parc Avenue Cafe
Smith & Wollensky's Steak House
Maloney & Porcelli
Maloney & Porcelli
Grand Central Station's Oyster Bar
Recently I was in a book store in Chicago and came across two books from the For Dummies series. Restaurants for Dummies and Wine for Dummies.
Restaurants for Dummies is written by Michael Garvey who is very knowledgeable and an excellent pool player. Wine for Dummies is written by Ed McCarthy who finally, ironically got one up on the 'French'. "Well done Ed."
I must also thank Tom Larson who taught me how to hold two plates in one hand and how to do it as well as Dean Conroy who taught me how to get away with.
